Broadway Rehabilitation: Park Ave to Welton - City and County of Denver

Project Description:

The City and County of Denver and its general contractors Parsons and Lawson Construction will reconstruct Broadway St. from the north edge of the light rail tracks at Welton St. to just south of Lawrence St. This $3.7 million construction project provides for the removal of existing asphalt pavement and reconstruction of 2,900 linear feet of roadway, curb and gutter and sidewalks in longer lasting concrete. The project also includes:

  • Intersection enhancements
  • New traffic signals installed at 20th and California, Stout and Champa
  • Drainage improvements and curb and gutter upgrades
  • Sidewalk and ADA pedestrian ramp improvements
  • New lighting, signage and pavement marking

Vehicles will have use of Broadway and the side streets, although in a constricted capacity. Travel lanes will be reduced to two lanes in the southbound direction and one lane northbound. Details of phasing are shown below.

The City & County of Denver’s Better Denver Bond Program works to preserve, renovate and create amenities that touch citizen’s lives – including roads, libraries, parks, recreation centers, child care sites, hospitals, city buildings, and cultural facilities. Approved by voters in 2007, the bond program injects millions of dollars into the economy, helps to preserve and create jobs and is making Denver a more attractive place to live, work, and invest in the future.
